As your Novi City Council representative, Justin Fischer will focus on the following goals:
SAFETY
Ensure adequate funding levels and staffing levels for Novi Police & Fire - helping them to KEEP OUR FAMILIES SAFE
INFRASTRUCTURE
Ensure Novi Roads & Infrastructure will be a TOP PRIORITY as the disrepair of some roads in Novi is a public safety concern
Continue progress and support of sidewalk continuity within Novi for safe pedestrian travel
Allocate money annually to improve and repair Novi neighborhood roads
Take advantage of the economic downturn to fix Novi roads to accommodate current population at considerable cost savings
BUDGET
Pursue County, State, and Federal grants and fund matching
Maintain quality of life in Novi WITHOUT RAISING TAXES
Make decisions with the long-term in mind, being mindful of our yet unfunded obligations
Promote accountability for use of taxpayer dollars and transparency on expenses
Ensure additional requirements are NOT a burden to Novi city staff or more costly to Novi taxpayers
Investigate collaborative partnerships with school district for cost saving ideas
DEVELOPMENT
Support development of the Downtown Novi area with family friendly businesses
Investigate the practicability of a Novi Downtown Development Authority to pursue further County and State grants
Support city-wide Development that increases our tax base without destroying our city's infrastructure or image
